How to teach your dog to “follow the thumb”
The purpose of this exercise is to be able to move your dog in a discreet and easy way. When the dog knows the exercise, you can guide your dog to a certain position or up in a sofa, a chair or a bed, just by leading the dog by your thumb.
 
This is a very useful exercise and can be used in many situations, both working in AAI and in everyday life. It is an easy and discreet way of getting the dog to jump in the sofa and lay down by the client. If you are out walking,  you can use this exercise if you want your dog to jump up on things, like for example a rock or a tree trunk.
